GIVING YOUR HENS HERBS

I will evolve this section as I learn more, a brief summary on the herbs I use regularly;

Oregano is naturally antibacterial,
Thyme - Respiratory and Antibacterial,
Rosemary- Immune boost and circulation improver,
Mint is also antibacterial and high in antioxidants, vit B and aids digestion,
Basil helps with fatigue and depression ( discovered on research for the hormone blues!!! and it certainly seems to help!!),
Ginger and Turmeric are both excellent anti inflammatories and have many antioxidant properties as well as aiding digestion,
Meadowsweet - natural pain relief (aspirin was derived from it),
Cleaver - lymphatic drainer,
Dandelion - diuretic

I highly recommend having a wee herb garden for the girls!! and you 😉 I love my herbal teas!!!
ALWAYS LET THE TEA COOL!!!! xx

The latest herbal tea to be given to the girls ❤️ Basil!
Using hormone implants is life saving treatment for hens when they are suffering from reproductive issues, however they can have some side effects. Namely lethargy and ‘depression’. Seeing my gurls go through this has spurred me to thumb through my herb book and then research anything that looks promising!! Basil by jove!!

Ancient medicine doctrines sing its praises but alongside that there are some medical research findings to support this.

In summary Basil contains many essential oils rich in Phenolic compounds and a wide array of natural products including polyphenols such as flavonoids and anthocyanins.
Rich in antioxidants to increase antioxidant activity to prevent cell division and cell death.
It is also supposed to aid depression and fatigue. It is antibacterial and anti inflammatory!!

So, Basil tea here we come!!!! Tastes lovely!!!
